We have deliberately chosen dates outside of the usual ‘wet’ season here in Thailand to reduce the possibility of rain affecting the trip. However, we cannot guarantee that your trip will be rain-free. At least, we’ll try!
Absolutely! The choice of food in Thailand is wide and varied and international offerings, or food prepared without spice are readily available. Just let us know pre-arrival so that we can prepare this for you.

During the months the trip will be operating the daily temperatures will be around a constant 33° Celsius. In the ‘winter’ months, overnight in the mountains of Chiang Mai can get down to around 12° Celsius, which can feel very cool compared to the daytime highs. Outside of those months, the overnight temperature is usually around 22-24° Celsius.
Yes, all your domestic travel, including flights, is included throughout the trip with a checkable luggage allowance of up to 20kgs, and a carry-on allowance of up to 7kgs.
At the time of writing, there are no entry restrictions for Thailand although we do recommend receiving a vaccination for peace of mind. In addition, travel and insurance that includes Covid-19 coverage is not required, however, is absolutely recommended as a purchase prior to arrival.
Medical insurance is 100% required and we will ask you to send to us a copy of your policy prior to your arrival. Failure to supply this certificate may see your trip cancelled. For travel insurance, this is entirely your decision.
100% yes! At Trunk we have worked with captive and rescued elephants for almost 20 years. During this time, we have assisted many projects that claim to be ethical and have since narrowed this down to projects that we know first-hand actually are and put the welfare of the elephants above everything else.
In all cases there are elements of every trip that must be pre-paid weeks in advance, flights, for example. This deposit ensures that we can secure you the best possible prices by booking early, and flights booked in this way are non-refundable.
